Lübeck

Founded in 1134, the Hanseatic City of Lübeck has approximately 210.000 inhabitants and is situated near the Baltic Sea and not only famous for its churches and Christmas market. It is a center of commerce, industry and higher education far up North that is playing an increasingly important role in bringing together the people of Scandinavia, Russia, the Baltic States and Poland.

Much of Lübeck's architecture, dating back to the Middle Ages is till intact in the older portion of the town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Travemünde (beach)

Take bus number 9 or 19 from bus stop Fachhochschule to bus stop ZOB/Hauptbahnhof (next to central train station). Then take the train or bus number 30 or 40 to bus stop Travemünde-Strandbahnhof (journey time: approx. 40 minutes).

Bicycles

In Lübeck you can get easiest and quickest everywhere by bike. You get cheap, used bikes online under Ebay Kleinanzeigen or in secon-hand bike shops.
